Active Release Technique
Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system/ movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Headaches, back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, impingement syndrome, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART.
Acute injuries and overuse injuries alike result in the body creating scar tissue in its attempt to heal damaged tissue. Oftentimes this scar tissue interferes with other tissues, including tendons, nerves, and ligaments, binding them down and restricting their necessary range of motion. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. The resulting restrictions can cause all kinds of symptoms, with the most common being pain, inflammation, muscle weakness, and numbness and tingling.
ART is an incredibly specific and effective form of soft tissue therapy. The specificity of the analysis and treatment allows us to identify and treat the underlying soft tissue adhesion or fibrosis accurately and efficiently, creating dramatic and lasting results. ART is used by professional athletic teams all over the world because it is a superior tool for breaking up scar tissue, reducing muscle spasm, and improving blood flow to speed healing in an area.
